Ballenas de Luna is a locally owned clothing store that prides itself on fighting with the fast fashion culture. Instead, the team behind Ballenas de Luna design and manufacture their apparel themselves, with the goal of creating beautiful and quality pieces that last for a long time.
The business also openly collaborates with those with an interest in the message and goals of Ballenas de Luna. Fostering the community is a big part of the brand, as at the end of the day, we’re all under the same moon.
To further commit to the goal of sustainably, Ballenas de Luna uses recyclable and degradable materials in their brand. Paper bags, carton boxes and reusable tote bags.
After the Civil War, freed slaves settled in
an area of Savannah known as Frogtown. But in the early 60’s the area was blighted and an overpass was built where businesses once.
Ballenas de Luna honors Frogtown’s history by inviting African American locals to showcase their products and creativity in Ballenas de Luna’s monthly event:
